Major bug report with Import XLS (data destructive!!!)
Hey guys - I found a pretty major bug with importing XLS requests. If I download the sampleXLS.xls, and attempt to import sheet 1 (Sample List), the import routine shows there is one record to create. If I open sampleXLS.xls in Excel 2013, and duplicate the Sample List tab (by right clicking the sheet name and selecting "move or copy" then selecting create a copy - which creates "Sample List (2)"), make no additional changes, save the file and attempt to import Sample List, it still shows a single record for importing. But then if I select Sample List (2) from the drop down box, it now shows it has 2 records to create, and upon importing, it creates a new contact, etc using the field headers. Now this isn't too major of a bug.... The bigger bug is that if you have only specified the contact name, it completely wipes out the contact's existing information in SCP - phone numbers, email address, everything. This is a major bug - and I only discovered 3 days after using the import feature to import 200 tickets for approximately 50 separate contacts.
And then everytime one of those contacts send an email to create a new support ticket, it would not only create a new unapproved contact, but did not associate the ticket with the appropriate account. So now I've got about 200 tickets that I need to go manually reconcile and move to the correct account, while I also go and re-populate the contacts data...
Not cool guys. This is a pretty major issue.
