macOS Mojave 10.14.3 Supplemental Update for FaceTime bug

Apple has rolled out macOS Mojave 10.14.3 supplemental update that fixes the FaceTime bug that let people eavesdrop on unanswered group video calls.

Besides, the macOS Mojave 10.14.3 supplemental update addresses another security issue involving Live Photos on FaceTime. Apple didn't disclose any information on that issue yet, but ensured that it's been fixed in the new update.

Workaround:
You can deploy macOS Mojave 10.14.3 supplemental update to resume using FaceTime without any issues. To deploy this update,
  • Update vulnerability database by clicking the Update Now button in the left tree view under "Patch Mgmt" tab.

  • Navigate to systems under Patch Mgmt tab and click on Scan systems to detect the missing patches.

  • Navigate to Patch Mgmt>Patches>missing patches.

  • Search for macOS Mojave 10.14.3 Supplemental Update for FaceTime bug or Patch ID 601781 and select the patch.

  • Click on install patch to create a patch deployment task.

Note: If you have disabled FaceTime by executing custom scripts using Desktop Central, you can remove FaceTime application from the blacklist and deploy the custom script configuration from the configurations tab to start using FaceTime. Follow this document to allow FaceTime by executing custom scripts on Mac machines.

Happy patching!
