Looking for a simple way to rotate device passwords?
Hi,
Are you looking for a simple way to rotate device passwords? DeviceExpert offers a simple way to do this. You can use the command line script execution feature of DeviceExpert. This feature helps in executing CLI commands on devices in user-defined sequence. It is useful in automating repetitive and time-consuming operations on devices.
To do script execution, follow the procedure detailed below:
(1) In the DeviceExpert GUI, go to Configuration tab >> Custom Templates and create a new template
(2) Select "Secript Execution Mode" from the Execution Mode drop-down
(3) In the template content part, enter the following command to rotate the passwords on multiple devices at one go using the command line script execution. Following is the typical template content that could be used for this purpose:
configure terminal
enable password xxxx
exit
(4) Go to the "Custom Templates" page again and click the link "Execute" button present in the 'Action' column of the script created by you. In the UI that opens, you can choose a specific device or a group of devices to which the changes have to be applied
(5) The script will be executed on the selected devices and you can see the output in the UI itself.
