Log360 Cloud: Agent support to be discontinued for Windows OS versions older than 7

Hi everyone,

As part of an upcoming update, Log360 Cloud will no longer support installing the agent on Windows operating systems older than Windows 7. While you can still collect logs from such systems by mapping them to a supported device, direct log collection using an agent installed on these older systems will no longer be possible.

Why this change?
This change is primarily driven by security concerns. Older versions of Windows do not natively support modern TLS protocols, which are essential for secure communication. Additionally, this update ensures optimal performance, security, and compatibility.

What are your options?
To ensure uninterrupted log collection, we recommend:
  • Mapping the unsupported device to another system with a supported OS where the agent is already installed, or installing the agent on a new supported device and mapping accordingly.
or
  • Using third-party log forwarders like Snare to push logs to your Log360 Cloud instance.

If you have any questions or need assistance during the transition, feel free to reach out to our support team at support@log360cloud.com.

Thanks and regards,
Log360 Cloud team
