Are you actively working on additional Linux support, and what are the challenges? The support is so thin for most distros that it's not viable for the majority of Linux environments.
We are an MSP who uses ME DC Enterprise internally and would LOVE to use it in our Cloud offerings. However much of our Cloud environment, including Hypervisors, Front Ends, Storage Nodes and Client Guests are Linux machines. I am mildly embarrassed to suggest this product, which I have implemented and for which I have evangelized at 2 different companies, because of its virtually non-existent Linux support. We, like many organizations, run Centos/RHEL primarily, and getting basic patch and configuration management features for those Distros from ME DC would guarantee a significant additional investment in this product by us.
Failing that, I am opening my question to the Forum and asking what automation solution they use for patching and managing Enterprise Linux hosts.
I am a big ME fan (we use SDP, ADSSP and ELA in our environment as well), so I hope to hear of a serious or renewed development effort on the Linux side, which seems otherwise abandoned!! Thank you!
