License Management interaction with Endpoint Central

Hello,

we use SDP and Endpoint Central. Both application do provide license management but do not exchange data about it (in opposite to other information like, users, hardware and software inventory).

Therefore the integrity of software license information is not given with running both applications!

You can track license information in Endpoint Central what has capability to assign licenses automatically to clients. However, that license and assignment to clients will not appear in SDP.

You can do same in SDP, here the automatic assignment of licenses is missing. You need always manually assign license to clients/users what becomes soon unmanageable.

Especially as you have to create for any managed software a "unlimited" license (even there is no real license) it is required and you have to manually assign clients to that license.
If you do not, the software will appear with x amount of unlicensed installation (remember you have an unlimited license assigned!).

The possibility of automatic/manual assignment of licenses in Endpoint Central makes it much more manageable, However, missing that license information in SDP where you likely manage all your assets is nothing you relay can accept.
