Jboss falls over but can't restart

We're trialing AppManager (Free Version) to monitor and report a number of JBoss servers - ideally. If it works we'll upgrade to the serious version. But....

Whilst we can restart an existing JBoss instance using MBeans, if JBoss falls over, using Execute Program to run the run.bat or run.jar fails no matter how long a time-out we set.

We have run.bat uploaded into the AppManager..\working directory and have tried setting a new .bat file to go to the JBoss directory and run the run.bat there - no good either.

Any clues as to what to do?
