Java Chewing Resources, Helpdesk unresponsive

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me with this before my license key arrives...

Java.exe is chewing CPU & Memory Resources.

I've just installed SD7 build 7002 on a Dual P3 1.4Ghz machine, with 2.5GB Ram and 40GB HDD space, using MySQL.

Java seems to be chewing up all available system resources, even though the system isnt doing anything. I can seem to modify assets, etc or the admin side of it no problems, but when trying to modify a helpdesk request, CPU Usage goes to around 100% and the page just sits there loading.

It makes no difference wether i'm using the system console or a workstation.
The server did have JAVA 6 Update 2 installed, but uninstalling and rebooting have made no difference.

I am tempted to uninstall SD+ and all versions of java to see if this fixes the problem
