issue in adding domain

I have been working with trial version of Desktop central for the past two days. I am facing a issue in adding a domain. I am getting an error stating that " Validation Failed" even after giving the correct credentials.
I have installed the Desktop Central in windows 2003 server which by its own is having a domain. I am trying to add a new domain which is in an another location connected through VPN. I am giving the right credentials but still i am getting the same issue. The Domain Controller is working fine. Kindly help me in overcoming this issue.
I also need a clarifiaction as to whether the Desktop Central can be installed in a Domain Controller...
