Issue - Exporting The Service Desk "WorkOrder" Table To Crystal Reports

Hello Experts,

I'm new to Service Desk, so forgive me if I'm making an obvious mistake.

I've pulled the Manage Engine Service Desk database and all of its tables, columns etc into Crystal Reports.

[In case you don't know Crystal Reports is a piece of software for creating reports from virtually any data source - in this case, Service Desk's database.]

Now, I've had a look at an image of Service Desk's "Work Order" table from October 2010. (See image 1)

Image 1:

Inside the "Work Order" table; you have the CREATEDTIME column. This column is a Date & Time datatype.

However!

When this table is pulled into Crystal Reports and its columns displayed... (See image 2)

Image 2:

...CreatedTime is listed as a Number datatype. Not a Date & Time datatype.

But Service Desk displays CreatedTime as a Date & Time data type; as follows i.e. Feb 1, 2017 07:39 AM. So that's a MM/DD/YYYY HH/MM format. (See image 3)

Image 3:

When pulled into Crystal Reports, these dates display as long numbers i.e 1485770973913 (See image 4)

So long story short:

  • Is the CreatedTime column still a Date & Time datatype.
  • If Created Time is now a Number datatype; how does that Number datatype get turned into a Date & Time datatype in Service Desk i.e  Feb 1, 2017 07:39 AM
  • If Created Time is still a Date & Time datatype; why would the CreatedTime column be exported to Crystal Reports as a Number? (See image 2)

Thank you.
