Is there a way to delete/remove the alerts showing in the Hardware events from the Event Summary widget?

Is there a way to delete/remove the alerts showing in the  Hardware events from the Event Summary widget? Some of the hardware on our network is causing these alerts and we (my boss) does not want to see these. TIA
