is it possible to install opmanager without xfree86 on a 64 bit linux box

Is there a way to install opmanager 9 on a linux box without xfree86?  My understanding is opmanager is a tomcat based web server with a mysql backend.  Why is xfree86 needed?

By the way, the linux box is a a CentOS 2.6.18-128.2.1.el5 64bit machine.
