We're currently looking for an "agentless" software inventory/audit application, and I'm taking a look at ServiceDesk. My question is, when you schedule a scan, how does that handle say remote machines? If we have a lot of remote users that connect via VPN, I'm assuming if the machines aren't on during the scan time they will be skipped.
Is there anyway around that? I'm going to assume this maybe the biggest downside to an "agentless" application.
