Inventory not updated correctly

Inventory not updated correctly

Greetings,

Not sure if this is a known issue, or if a ticket should be opened but here's the issue:

For many software items, the DCentral inventory is not 'updated' correctly for many software packages that are patched or upgraded.
These packages do not have duplicate entries in add/remove programs, or in the registry hive section where it seems DCentral pulls much of its software inventory info from:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Software such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Silverlight, Novell Client for Windows, etc will have
the 1st detected entry (and the date it was installed/detected)
and as a separate entry the 'new' version as well.
Once these packages are updated, there is only one version installed, yet the inventory will show the previous versions as being installed as well.

Here are some examples from a machines inventory:
"Adobe Acrobat X Standard - English, Français, Deutsch" 10.1.1 Adobe Systems "Thu, Sep 22 2011, 12:00:00" Occasionally "Wed, Sep 14 2011, 04:37:16"
"Adobe Acrobat X Standard - English, Français, Deutsch" 10.1.0 Adobe Systems "Thu, Jul 14 2011, 12:00:00" Occasionally "Tue, Jul 12 2011, 09:12:34"
ManageEngine Desktop Central 7 - Agent 7.2.38 ZohoCorp "Mon, Oct 17 2011, 12:00:00" Not known "Fri, Oct 14 2011, 12:23:23"

Microsoft Silverlight 4.0.60531.0 Microsoft Corporation "Tue, Aug 09 2011, 12:00:00" Not known "Wed, Jun 15 2011, 10:56:04"
Novell Client for Windows - Unknown -- Not known "Tue, May 17 2011, 03:05:55"
Novell Client for Windows 4.91.SP5.20100928 Unknown -- Not known "Thu, Oct 27 2011, 11:37:48"

How can this be resolved short of uninstalling and re-installing the agent (to trigger a new inventory)? The inventory should be what is on the machine, not what has ever been installed on the machine at any point in time in the past?
