Inventory Multiple IPs on Targets
Hi,
We are currently evaluating ServiceDesk 5, and so far we are very happy with it.
There are a number of glaring issues, that I would be grateful for some feedback on.
1) We need to be able to inventory Multiple IPs assigned to individual NICs
2) We need to be able to inventory Linux machines AND Windows machines
Ref point 1; ServiceDesk seems to create NIC entries for multiple adapters when scanned, but manually editing/creating a workstation restricts input to one NIC only. In addition, our servers often have multiple IPs allocated to the same NIC, and this data is critical for maintaining an IP address list (used/available)
Ref point 2; I understand the WMI/AD integration is only available when running the Windows ServiceDesk release. Therefore, we will more than likely opt for that version. However we have far more Linux machines than Windows machines, and all are running SNMP and SSH. Is it possible to gather Machine data using SSH or SNMP?
I would be grateful for any feedback, and if such feedback is 'it's in the roadmap' I would be grateful for either a link to the roadmap, or some approximate idea on if/when the above features may become available.
Many thanks in advance,
Geoff Jukes
