Intelligent patching

Suppose I have a list of 5 machines in "Highly Vulnerable Systems" with various missing patches. I then tic the upper check-box to choose all 5 machines, then click Deploy Missing Patch and deploy the configuration. I presume that this configuration will selectively attempt to individually apply only the specific patches needed on each of the 5 machines, but when the configuration runs it produces some errors as if an attempt had been made to apply all patches to all machines. Although the applicable patches do apply properly, the error messages are confusing. I should think the configuration would intelligently pick-and-choose the proper patches for each machine to save me having to create and deploy an individual configuration for each machine. Is this a bug, expected behavior or a missing feature?
