Hello guys,

Got a problem with asset scanning in that it does not seem to scan everything, especially with software: gonna give one example. I have an dedicated Exchange Server 2010. I use agentless scanning. I noticed only three things were getting scanned with agentless scanning:

- Microsoft Silverlight
- Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
- Windows Internet Explorer 9

The strange thing is it does detect hardware and (which is noticable almost every scan) the free space on drives.

So i thought, let's see what happens when i install the agent, which installed flawless, and i scanned shortly after that, with these results popping up:

- ManageEngine AssetExplorer Agent
- Microsoft Silverlight
- Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
- Windows Internet Explorer 9

So, as you guys can see, very unreliable results, and still not detected, although it is also installed onto this same machine (and i am copying from the installed programs list in Control Panel):

- Exchange Server 2010
- ForeFront Server Protection
- System Center DPM Protection Agent
- and a few more patches and minor stuff.

Any ideas as to why these results are so varying and unreliable guys?

PS: My config:

- ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus Pro build 8.0.0 build 8017 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
- Asset scanning seems to work ok, no RPC problems or notifcations unless machine is turned off
- AD integration works perfect, AD enumeration before scan works perfect, users get imported
- Agents install perfect as i was trying this out on workstations and servers.
