IE7/Java configuration issues...
We have finally gone live with SDP 7005(1400 imported users 2000 workstations(all assigned to departments)) and have run into an issue.
When the analyst is keying in a New Request and gets to the Name* field. If the analyst uses the 'in field' search function by typing a few letters of the name(for this example James) then uses the cursor keys to find the appropriate name, then clicks Enter...no problem.
But if they use their mouse to click on the selected name or leave the field partially entered and click on the add requester icon to the right of the field. SDP will hang for about 1 minute. With Task Manager open during this time iexplore.exe is using 99% of system resources. It's been tested on all of our systems and it happens on all the systems including the server itself.
I updated Java(just in case) and still the same issue. As a test I installed Firefox and ran through the same test as above with no issue.
Is there specific IE7/Java settings I should be aware of?
