Ideas on deploying patches to freshly imaged systems.
I was curious if anyone uses DesktopCentral to do this?
Our desktop support team uses SCCM to image/deploy new systems and re-image systems. The current method of deploying patches to these new systems is creating a task sequence and deploying a group of updates. This is time consuming however since that group of updates has to frequently be repackaged to add new updates. Until that is done it leaves a mess of patches that need to be manually installed after the system is imaged.
We would like to move away from WSUS completely for endpoints and solely use Desktop Central. But I cannot figure out a good clean way to deploy a configuration to a newly built system. The Desktop Central agent is currently being installed through SCCM. So new systems will have the agent installed right off the bat. We just need a good way to deploy missing patches to those systems.
Thanks.
