HP switch problems

HP switch problems

I have interesting switch problems after updating from v6 => v7 build 7010.

We are using only HP switches, and I have tested the below situations only with HP 2848. Please notice that all the problems came after update, everything worked fine in OpManager 6.

I could not find the way how to remove CPU Utilization threshold rule generated in OpManager 6, it still was in normal state even if I removed the values. Well, I removed the whole CPU Utilization monitor, but I could not add it back. No errors on screen when I try to add it, CPU monitor just does not appear.

Same happens to 2 different default monitors when I remove them and try to add back:

- Memory Utilization
- Total No. of Collisions

All the other monitors can be removed and added, the problem is only with the above 3.

Next step... deleting the whole switch and adding it back. CPU and memory monitors are back, but not the Total No. of Collisions. I try to add it manually, nothing. I remove CPU and memory monitors, but the same problem appears... I can't add them back?! I can add all the other monitors tho, but not those 3.

Next problem. Some of the ports are identified as 10mbps, even if they were 100mbps in OpManager 6. Try to think what happens when there is actually 100mbps device attached to that kind of port. I get alarms telling about 500% port utilization.... and that would be only 50% in 100mbps port. Rediscovering or deleting and adding the switch back does not help.

Then I would like to know how to add CPU monitor back to the switch where I removed it... without deleting the whole switch.

Any updates coming? :)
