HP Proliant Help: Do I need a process on the client for HP MiB's to work?

HP Proliant Help: Do I need a process on the client for HP MiB's to work?

First let me say that I am new to SNMP although I think I have some basic knowledge. I have several HP Proliant DL380 G5 Servers running Windows Server 2008 and am running OpManager 8. I have downloaded the MiB package from HP and am trying to use the MiB Browser to test CPQHOST.mib (required), CPQHLTH.mib (for Thermal Data), and CPQIDA.mib (for individual RAID Disk Health Status). I see that most of the items in the tree have a red circle with the lines through them and I get no data. Other than SNMP enabled on each server (I can see the basic SNMP items like CPU and RAM) do I need another service to be running on each server that will allow me to capture this additional and more in-depth data?

On another note. Why am I re-inventing the wheel? Surely there are others that run these servers and use OpManager. I am a little disappointed that the software a not as "plug and play" as I had hoped. I am glad that I am learning more about SNMP and network monitoring, but at the same time, there is alot on my plate and it would be nice to be able to download a device template that another has created and just pop it in OpManager to go.

Any help is appreciated.
