How to Use "User Groups" - where is this useful?

How to Use "User Groups" - where is this useful?

I have created two types of Users in the "User Groups" area under ADMIN of ServiceDesk.

I don't see anywhere within Service Desk that I can use the groups I have created 

I am a newbie so I apologize if I am overlooking something obvious.
