How to unlock locked out AD user accounts automatically using ADManager Plus.

With ADManager Plus, you can configure a scheduler that automatically identifies all the locked out AD user accounts in your domain, and unlocks them. 

 

Steps to unlock locked out AD user accounts automatically using ADManager Plus

    1. Login to ADManager Plus. 

    2. Click on the Automation tab and click on the Automation option available on the left pane. 

    3. Click on Create New Automation.

    4. Enter a suitable Automation Name and Description for the automation. (For instance, you can name this automation as Unlock User Accounts).

    5. Select User Automation under the Automation Category.

    6. Select the Domain of your choice. 

    7. Set the Select Tasks to Automate field to Unlock Users specified under the Automation Task/Policy section.

    8. You can specify the list of user accounts to be unlocked using a report, a CSV file or both. 

      a. From Reports: 

Click on the Select link and select the required report. For this scenario, select the Locked Out Users report. 

      b. From a CSV: 

Click on the Select More link and specify the location of the file in which the user accounts are specified.

    9. Select the Implement Business Workflow option, if you want to review or approve every task before it is actually executed. 

    10. Specify the time at which the user accounts have to be unlocked using the options given under the Execution Time. For instance you can set the time to 7:00 AM and frequency to Daily. 

    11. Save this automation to schedule the unlock operation at the specified time and frequency.
