How to Configure Switches to raise an alarm

Hello all,

if i add a switch to OpManager then after the first poll there is a alarm for that device, that several ports are down.

That's true :-) This Ports are not connected anywhere up to now.

Our goal is: We want to be alarmed as soon as a port changes it's connect-State. Right now there is always an alarm and if we clear the alarm after next poll it's there again.

If i unmanage the ports we don't use today then i will never be informed by OpManager if someone connects a device to one of this ports.

How can we tell OpManager, that the ports like they are (up/down) are okay and only if a state changes we need to be informed?

I'm quite sure the solution is very easy.... hopefully ....
