How to better understand technician time

How to better understand technician time

Currently using version 9.0 Build 9038

Am trying to better understand how technicians are spending their time on requests.

Can technicians update records with time spent on activities?

Can I report on how much time is being spent on requests?

Where can I find documentation on how to understand time recording?

Currently I cannot tell if a technician is spending hours resolving a request or not.
