How the 8.0 Release went and how it could have gone
Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel and version 8 has arrived.
How this release went:
6th May - Release will be in June - 4 months off
14th June - Beta end of Month - 2 Weeks off
14th June - Release end of July - 3 months off
24th June - +1 Week for Beta - 1 week off
10th July - early access to Beta
28th July - Beta upgrade possible
05th August - Release by month end. - 2 months off
28th August - Release in two weeks - 1.5 months off
08th September - Release end of September - 1 month off
27th September - Release in 1.5 weeks - 3.5 weeks off
Uma get's sacked!? Last time we hear from him...
10th October - Release in 6-8 days - 1 weeks off
24th October - Release today or tomorrow - 2-3 days off
26th October - Release in 1-2 days - right on
27th October - Release Day!

6th May - We will include features xyz - Please understand that we can't make any promises regarding release dates.
14th June - Beta is nearing the final stages - stay tuned.
14th June - We have been working hard on feature x and are very exited - here are some screen shots - stay tuned.
24th June - We will soon be giving early access to the Beta. Early access means there currently is no upgrade path - it is a standalone beta only.
10th July - early access to Beta
- Interested in participating - send us an email to ... . We are working hard on getting the Beta stable enough so that we can offer an upgrade from version 7.x. We'll let you know once it's ready
28th July - Beta upgrade possible - As always - if you would like to download it shoot us an email to: ...
05th August - Beta testing is going well - please remember to leave your feedback in our beta forum here: ...
28th August - Thank you for your valuable help during the beta stage. We will now need a bit of time to fix all the identified issues.
08th September - Fixing is going well - we are working hard on the bulk of issues identified.
27th September - Good news - most issues are fixed and we are confident the product can go into QA testing soon. If there are no unforeseen problems you should be able to have the product in your hands in the next couple of weeks
Uma gets to keep his job!?
10th October - You remember those unforeseen problems I mentioned - well we found one. Please apologize there will be a short delay in the release. Stay tuned we will keep you updated.
24th October - We are in the final stretch - thank you for your great collaboration.
26th October - We are still fine tuning a couple of things on or website to get ready for the Release.
27th October - Release Day! - Enjoy our great product!
Manage-engine - please keep this in mind for next time. It's all about communication. Just tweak that a bit and everyone will be better off during your next release.
