How do I?

How do I?

I'm evaluating OpManager for a possible purchase. We have downloaded and installed the 30day professional version. As I'm setting up my networks I have a few questions that I have not seen answered in the manual.

1. I have DLink switches and they are not automatically being seen by OpManager. The whole create your own device section is a bit fuzzy to me. Any suggestions on how I can add these to the system?

2. I have enabled SNMP on my Windows 2003 server. I have ran rediscover many times and it is not showing up as SNMP enabled. I have checked and there is no fireware on the LAN connection. Any other ideas to get this to show up?

3. This is the most important reason that I'm looking at OpManager. We have infrequent problems that are usually related to either a dying NIC card or a application interacting with the server in such a manner that it brings the network to it's knees. Is there anyway to see ALL the workstation/printer NIC cards at one time to spot problems? I realize you can view these individually, but can I configure a view to see them all on one page? Also, is there a method to see the packets sent/received also on this report? In short, I would like to see something that I can monitor all the traffic on the network, see which stations are having any dropped packets or reporting any errors as well as see how many packets have been sent and recieved by that workstation/printer since it started.

Thanks for any replies.
