HOST name change suggestion

A suggestion that should solve my problem and maybe avoid a major software change on your side without the ability to change HOST names. Should be called DEVICE NAME not HOST.

Why don't you just add a field to the database called DEVICE KNOWN AS or something and make it the same as the HOST name by default and allow us to change that field.

Then anywhere you have the field HOST name use the DEVICE KNOWN AS NAME and that way you don't have to make major changes by allowing us to change the host name??

Also I would suggest you come up with something other than HOST name because in a SYSLOG product a lot of the devices sending data are NOT HOST but DEVICES on the network. Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Monitoring devices etc etc

In fact as I think about it I believe you could add ANYTHING coming in on the SysLog port as a DEVICE not HOST. If we need to add a machine we can click on ADD HOST or you could give us the ability to change from a DEVICE to a HOST with login info.
