Help with custom SNMP monitor for 3G router's signal strength
We have some 3G routers from Digi that have their own MIBs. We would like to monitor the signal strength. The MIB provided (.1.3.6.1.4.1.332.11.6.3.3.1.4) gives us this as a result: "3 of 4 bars (-83 dBm)".
I created a new device template, then created a new SNMP monitor using this OID. However no data gets collected. If I got to a specific devices page and do Test Monitor I do get a return for Monitor Value.
I could understand difficulty with this being graphed as it is not a strict numerical value. However we would at least like to get it to record the results from a poll and have them saved. Just like any other monitor will provide a graph at top, then below the results per date/time polled. Is this maybe something where the database can only accept numerical values? Any solution to this? Again we don't care about an actual graph displaying results (although that would be nice), we just need the actual results collected over time so we can at least compare what the signal strength was at a given time.
