Help - Device expert will not work

I am trialling Firewall analyzer and Device expert, but am having issues with the latter.
I have installed the demo twice on w2k3 servers and have the same error with each. the first time i logon, i am trying to add an fortinet (v3) device but everytime it just comes up with "device is already added to the inventory" whatever device i put in there. When there is nothing listed in the inventory. I have tried adding another Fortinet device, but that too says the same thing.
There is error messages or credential prompts, which i would of expected at that point. I put the details in, click add, it says adding device that comes up with that message. How can it already be in the inventory when its a fresh install...
Any ideas?
Looking forward to seeing this product in action, so disappointed to be let down at such an early stage of testing?
