Graphs in new API Client

Graphs in new API Client

Hi everyone,

My team and I are trying to get used to the new API-based interface in OpManager however we have run into some issues with graphs. I realize the interface is in beta (but you still push it out by default on new installs), so this post will mostly serve to report some issues and gather information. None of it is impacting our use of the system since we still have the old interface.

1. When selecting the Graphs tab in a server view, some graphs change format (Area, Bar, Line) each time the Graphs tab is selected, while some graphs stay consistently in one format. Is there a reason for this or any way to default graphs to a single format?

2. There seems to be an issue with OpManager's drawing of Line graphs (and formatting in general through a web browser). See this image:  https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1269720/graphs.png
(Sorry for not just attaching the image - I can't seem to select "Desktop" as my upload location)
It should be obvious to see that the line graphs for CPU utilization and Memory utilization on this particular server - although it happens for many, if not all servers now - aren't correct. If I drill down into each of these graphs, what seems to be happening is that although data points are put on the graph properly (confirmed through a Scatter Plot graph), the line drawn to connect them is skipping points, or rather flipping two points (i.e. Given 4 data points numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4, the line is following this order when drawing: 1, 3, 2, 4). Coincidentally, although I don't have enough data to check with, the data before about 12:00 looks "normal". Although I am confused why a graph for "Today" is displaying data between 07:00 and 16:00 when it is not even 10:00 yet (system time is correct).
You will also notice titles and times on the graphs do not fit well...
Although I originally tested this on Google Chrome v35 on Linux, these formatting issues are consistent across browsers (Firefox 20 on Linux, Firefox 31 on Windows, IE 9 on Windows)

3. Lastly, in Chrome v35 on Linux, the drill down into a graph is not formatted properly (Compare https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1269720/graphregular.png to https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1269720/graphzoomedout.png)
The screenshots are of the Memory Utilization graph from my previous screenshot after clicking on the graph preview. The first is regular 100% zoom and the second is zoomed out to 25% to show that, although the graph in its entirety is drawn out, something isn't formatting.

Let me know if there is anything that can be done about these formatting issues. I'm okay with simply using a different browser for some things, but this appears to be a bigger problem than just browser support.

Thanks,
Christian
