[ForYourInformation - 42] Task Template Enhancements


You may all know about the task templates behavior changes on the build 11107. Now we have a few enhancements released with 11115 builds of ServiceDesk Plus.

Existing Behaviour :

In the Request Template workflow tab, we can associate Task Templates to the request template. There is also an option to create a new Task Template and associate it. However, an associated task template cannot be edited inside the request template.



Enhancement :

Now the edit option is available from 11115 builds. You can edit Task Templates within the request template's Workflow tab and update.


A task template marked as "General" can be associated with all modules (projects, requests, change, problem, etc). Tasks templates marked as "Request/ Project" can be associated only with their respective modules.


When a task template has an association with the Request/Project templates, performing updates on the task within a request template will display an alert popup.
  • If the task template is associated with other request templates. Upon its update within the associated request template following alert will be displayed.


  • If the task template is associated with other project templates. Upon its update within the associated request template following alert will be displayed.


  • If the task template is associated with other requests/project templates, Upon its update within the associated request template following alert will be displayed.
