Feature spotlight: Report commenting

Feature spotlight: Report commenting

Imagine this: While looking at a report on SLA compliance, you notice a dip in January. You email the report to the help desk managers and ask for an explanation. You expect a fast reply, but your collaborators are confused about the graph you’ve shared; there’s more than one reference to January in the report. Email just doesn’t provide enough context.

Collaboration made simple with report commenting

A convenient alternative to emailing collaborators about reports is to use report commenting. With a discussion panel alongside your report, you can comment, ask questions, and offer explanations. You can also use @ mentions to tag specific collaborators for discussions. Report commenting facilitates real-time conversations among collaborators regarding key business metrics, and enables faster decision-making.

Report commenting is available for dashboards, and reports such as charts, pivot tables, summary views, and query tables.

Collaborators are notified of comments through in-app notifications, and they can respond right away using the quick reply option.

Contextual commenting
Report commenting also allows you to insert comments in specific sections of a report. Using the screenshot option, you can capture the entire screen or a specific section of the report, and annotate the screenshot using built-in image editing tools.

Additionally, you can attach files or include other related report views using the attach option.
