So I've been using ME service desk for all of 15 minutes and already feel like I shouldn't be using it although i like the product because i haven't even got it full up and running and it's seems like it's completely destroyed.
So I did updates because I though before I deploy why not update to the latest while there is minimal risk. Well apparently updated failed. Okay well fine I did the backups as it recommends. Then wow to my shock these backups are password locked, why? This isn't even optional, does not even ask you what password you would like to use. Just terrible choice of development. So I find out you have to login to service desk to get the password. wow. Like if I could log into service desk why would I need to restore. Most restore cases are you can't login I would say.
Anyway the point is I'm completely locked out with no backups. I would really appreciate it if anyone knew a way around this otherwise I will definitely not be using a product that locks it's users out of backups without informing them of this in the slightest. Seems like this product is just unreliable in that case without manual snapshot backups which I can not do as I am not going to run a VM on it's own just for this one service.
