I am running ServiceDesk 8017. Currently I am trying to deploy the latest agent (1.05) to our workstations. While doing this, I was receiving a lot of 'failed to communicate with client" errors. After some troubleshooting, I found that the AssetExplorer agent was stopped. When I tried to start it, I receive a message saying that the service is stopped because it has nothing to do. If I try to start it a few times, it finally starts and I can update the agent. However it does eventually stop again. This was extremely frustrating as I had to spend a day remotely starting services so I could push the latest client. I am still unable to push the agent to laptops in our company (not sure if a port is required through the firewall).
We are not using firewall on the workstations, but are on the laptops. I am at wits end as we are having a series of ServiceDesk issues. Please help.
