Event Log Monitoring Rules

We are currently implementing some event log monitoring for our servers within our Application Manager environment and would like to alert on all events of a type i.e. security / application etc apart from specific event ID's.

e.g. we want to alert on all security events other than those with event id 1234.

Please could someone let me know if this is possible within Application Manager and if so how we would go about it without having to specify a rule for every event ID other than those we want to ignore? (reading around the forums I think that Ops Manager can do this but we currently do not have that deployed)
