We have 3 ESX servers.  Each of them has at least one Virtual machine powered off (purposely).  These virtual machines may be dev/test servers or even virtualized desktops.

I'm trying to understand why 2 of the 3 indicated trouble alarms because a virtual is powered off and one does not.  Here is what I'm experiencing.

 

 

ESX1  Total VM: 43        VM Powered off:  2    only one alarm detected that indicates one vm is off.

 

ESX2   Total VM: 14        VM Powered off: 2   No alarms detected

ESX3   Total VM:  18        VM Powered off: 1   one alarm indicating one alarm detected

 

 

I have re-discovered all 3 ESX servers to ensure I've discovered any new virtuals that were added in the last month.

Can anyone explain why ESX2 has no alarms for 2 powered off machines?  Or, why is only one alarm detected on ESX1 when there are 2 VMs turned off?
