ESX Monitoring and Performance
When snmp is used for monitoring ESX hosts, it appears that the utilization monitors for CPU, Memory, etc. are monitoring the usage by the ESX operating system and service console rather than the whole ESX server. Is this true?
For example, my ESX server has 32GB of physical memory. I allocated 700MB of memory to the service console when I installed ESX. In OpManager, by default in the asset details, it listed the memory as 768MB in size when OpManager detected the server.
