Escalation and URL feature requests.

Escalation and URL feature requests.

First of all, thank you for your continued support--overall, from my perspective, it's always been very good.

I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions that would make OpManager much more useful to us, and hopefully to others. . .

1. Is there a way to change the Alarm Escalation module so it's more useful? As it is right now, it's a little too generic to be helpful to the escalation team.

I would like to select e-mail addresses for the "To E-mail Address" entry of an alarm escalation from my list of Notification Profiles. I would also like the messages that trigger the notifications to be part of the notification when it escalates, rather than a generic message. As a possible scenario:

OpManager receives a hard drive failure alarm from a server, and using the notification profile, sends an e-mail out to the tech support team. If, after 1 hour, the alarm is not acknowledged, OpManager sends out a second message with the details of the alarm to the escalation team, whose information is set up using a different Notification Profile. This would allow more flexibility in the configuration and reduce duplication of e-mail setup.

As another scenario: OpManager receives the alarm and displays it on the monitoring station. If, after 1 hour, the alarm is not acknowleged, OpManager sends out an e-mail with the alarm details to the Tech Support team already set up with a notification profile. If, after another hour the alarm is not acknowledged, the call is sent out using an escalation alarm to an escalation team or management team with a different notification profile Details of the alarm are immediately available and, again, the groups to be notified only need to be created one time and selected when creating the Alarm Escalation rules.

2. Can URLs be set up so reports and business views can be created and scheduled just like any other device? We have requirements to monitor certain websites we host and provide monthly uptime availability reports. It would be nice if we could just create a business view and schedule the URL reports like any other.

3. Finally, some of my equipment occassionally sends duplicate SNMP traps when there's a hardware failure. Is there a way to suppress the duplicate messages so I'm not receiving duplicate e-mail/pages and creating more than one service request in Service Desk Plus?

Thank you for your consideration and continued support.
