Error registering new license

Hi,

We are using the forever free Standard Edition of Service Desk Plus and today are encountering the following issue when we try to access it:

I have obtained a new license file and followed the walkthrough about registering a new license as our existing one is due to expire tomorrow (20/06/17), however when I launch run.bat I do not get a message telling me that the license has expired and it doesn't prompt me to browse to a new license, the services just all start normally. Please can you advise me how to resolve this, many thanks.
