Enroll via login requires password change

Enroll via login requires password change

I am currently working on a end user documentation for Enrollment in AD SelfService.
Now I stumbled across a phenomen, which I did not recognize before.

When a non enrolled user logs in to SelfService he is enforced to change password. This is something we do not want to have and when I enrolled some months ago this was not required.

We are running version 6503.

Is this a new requirement or can this be configured? Until now I was not able to find such a setting.
