Posting this here to see if the community think it's a good idea.

This is currently only invoked by DC during certain patch download operations. It would be significantly more useful if we were able to invoke it, on demand, regardless of what we or DC are doing. I have also posted this as a "feature request" in your appropriate feedback/ideas form.
