Endpoint Central server update stuck at backup files for half an hour

Strange behaviour when updating Endpoint Central server (since two versions, latest update to 11.2.2325.8). The update procedure seems to be stuck at "backing up significant files (44%)" for half an hour. CPU is at 100 percent for process 7-Zip Standalone Console.
After that time everything seems to perform as usual. But the whole update process takes nearly an hour.
Same symptom on two different Endpoint Central installations.


Any suggestions?
