Email Alerts too slow

Email Alerts too slow

I have a test email alert profile that is set to email if any of the following parameters are met:

1) Device misses 1 poll
2) Echo Service is down
3) If "Cisco Shutdown" TRAP is received     

It usually takes anywhere from 6-8 minutes of a device being down for an email to be sent.  Does anyone know how to set it up to email immediately when a device is offline?  Thanks.
