Dynamic Variables
I created a registry configuration to modify the "RegisteredOwner" and "RegisteredOrganization" values in the registry. In order to ensure that the RegisteredOwner values are setup correctly, I used the dynamic variable $DomainUserName that I selected from a list of available variables during configuration setup. The configuration appeared to be working for the first few days. Now I find that the dynamic variable is returning the value "SYSTEM" for $DomainUserName instead of the username of the person who logs into the system.
This is one of the few configurations that I have attempted to deploy so that I can more seamlessly tell who "owns" the machine that I have listed in the SOM panel. A feature that ties users and computers together without having to send configurations and adjust visible columns would be much appreciated in future updates/releases.
