At our location, we are having a problem with Service Desk Plus creating entirely new requestors even though the requestor already exists. Unfortunately, we have a number of different systems that the user can have a ticket submitted through and there is nothing we can do about that. The problem is that sometimes the user's name will be slightly different from one system to the other. For example, a requestor would be listed as "Joe" in one system and "Joseph" in another. Both are correct, but SDP sees them as two seperate requestors. I have even seen this behavior with an extra space in the name.
I realize something like this would be extremely difficult for a computer to recognise. What I really could use is the ability to report on requestor accounts. I know SDP assigns a unique number ID to each requestor. What I was hoping is that there is also a time stamp of when that requestor was created. This way I could review the accounts created each day/week/etc to try to find these duplicates without having to dig through our entire 6000+ requestor database, which is tedious even with the search function.
Please let me know how you can help or if you have any questions.
Thank you!
Joe
