Hi..
I would like some clarification around the needs for Backups of the MS SQL environment when using PMP. Within the Admin console is the option "Database Backup" which I believe runs a script to perform a SQL backup of the PMP database.
Within our environment we are using a shared SQL infrastructure and thus do not have the ability to run processes such as a backup script. As the SQL instance is on a Shared Infrastructure server that machine is fully backup up (log hourly, Full Daily).
Thus the question is: Can we disregard the PMP backup procedure for MS SQL and utilise our managed backup process instead. If so when it comes to restoration would it be a case of restoring the SQL Instance and then re-installing the PMP server and pointing it at the restored SQL instance utilising the masterkey.key and the pmp_key.key in Steps 9 and 10 of the Disater Recovery guide..
Many Thanks !
