Down Down Lists Closing IE
I'm having an issue with the unpopulated drop down lists in SD+ closing my ie window down.
I figure its some issue between ie and java and not SD but its starting to really tick me off...
Basically on all the drop down lists with values in it works fine. But the second i try to access a drop down list without a value ie simply closes down, no matter how far through a ticket i am.
On our SD+ we remove as much info for the user as possible and some fields you cannot. I have a completely new HP 8150w laptop (as in less than 1 week old) no additional software had been installed whatsoever and no windows update had been applied when i first encountered the problem. Since then ive applied all the windows updates, office, visual studio 08, checkpoint firewall with RSA and mcafee AVD.
I work in IT i can 100% garuntee the laptop is 100% virus and malware etc clean.
I figured it must be the absolutely diabolical HP Protect tools. Im loathe to uninstall these tools however as they come with an absolutely fantastic piece of software called credential manager. As i work with masses of different data sources in software development, each with a different set of usernames and passwords, i really REALLY like this ability to type and forget...
Ive obviously posted on the hp site to check if they know anything about it and thought i would post here also to see if anyone knew of an issue because this thing is rediculously annoying.
It doesnt appear to be a crash as there are no entries in event viewer but if anyone knows of a diagnostics tool that will catch events coming from ie please let me know.
Regards
Mike
