Hello,
I'm thinking about deploying a backup OPManager on my disaster site, without having to reconfigure from scratch this backup OPManager.
The problem I have is to duplicate the OPManager configuration as on my secondary site cause devices have not same IPs due to firewall NATTing that I can't avoid.
So for my primary site, where OPManager is,
I see the disaster site with specifc NATTed IPs.
When I put OPManager on my secondary site, most of devices appears down cause do not match anymore.
I have thought to avoid this issue by specifing DNS names for all of my devices, and do the matching between IPs in my /etc/hosts file.
So the OPManager configuration could be the same, and I will have just to change my /etc/hosts file, which is more conveniant than cliking hundred times in OPManager web interface.
> The result is that
OPManager solved only once the DNS name, when I create devices. One DNS name is solved, OPManager remembers only the IP address.
Morover, If a device already exists, putting the DNS name into the IPadress Field does not work at all : invalid format error.
I'm wondering
if this behaviour of OPManager is normal ? and how to manage my issue, Any idea ?
Regards,
Olivier
Versioning: OPmanager 7210 (production) / OPmanager 8020 (testing) : same behaviours
