Distribution List Management
We would like the same features as users have, except for contacts instead.
We basically want to manage a number of DLs with external addresses. Many of the contacts are on other DLs as well, so duplicate management is a real hassle right now. We would be ready to buy this tool asap if contacts can be managed in the same way, IF you can bulk add contacts to a DL
so that it checks AD to see if a contact exists, and if not, adds it to a customizable OU.
For example, if I have the Tax Institute and the Entertainment institute, they each have their own DL, all either contacts or internal users. The dept provides me a list of the addresses for each DL. I want to import the list to the DL. The utility checks to see if the email address exists in the domain. If the user/contact does exist, add it to the DL. If not, create a contact with the name the same as the email address, and add it to the DL. (Remove all previous members on the DL as a checkbox would be awesome)
We would also like to manage some with listserv style tools.
We haven't found a vendor that offers the tools in a standalone fashion, only with suites that contain many items we don't want or need. We don't want to manage this outside of AD, it's just more hastle.
We are also looking into the HelpDesk tools and are already using the Network Monitoring tools and love them.
